Drake may officially be the new king of pop.
The Toronto rap star has broken the record for most No. 1s by a male solo artist on the Billboard Hot 100, previously held by Michael Jackson.
His song “Janice STFU” topped the charts this week following the release of the album trilogy.
According to Billboard, this brings Drake’s career total to 14 chart-topping songs, tying him with Taylor Swift and Rihanna for the most No. 1 singles of any artist. Only Mariah Carey’s 19 and the Beatles’ 20 have surpassed that number.

Drake also set a new record for most Hot 100 entries in a week, with 42 songs on the chart. This surpassed Morgan Wallen’s record of 37 in 2025, and broke his own previous record of 36.
The “Hotline Bling” artist has repeatedly alluded to Michael Jackson in his music in recent years, framing his legacy in relation to the pop icon. The cover for his new album, Iceman, also appears to pay homage to Jackson, featuring rhinestone-encrusted gloves reminiscent of the late singer’s signature accessories.
This week, Drake also became the first artist to hit the top three on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums chart.
His album trilogy “Iceman,” “Habibti,” and “Made of Honor” debuted at No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3, respectively, on the May 30 chart.

These releases mark Drake’s first solo project since his high-profile feud with Kendrick Lamar in 2024, with references to the rivalry woven throughout several songs.
“Iceman” was completed after nearly a year of production. Meanwhile, Drake teased the project with a series of public stunts, including placing a large block of ice in a downtown Toronto parking lot that hid the album’s release date.
He launched the project by lighting up Toronto’s CN Tower in an icy blue hue on May 15th, and surprise-announced the album along with an accompanying release that night.
