Companies like Google and Microsoft have their productivity suites equipped with AI capabilities and assistants, while startups like Clickup and Readai have focused on building AI integration and search capabilities. On Thursday, Dropbox upgraded Dash, the AI search tool that was first introduced in 2023.

The company is adding “understanding” AI for different types of content to Dash. This means that users can search through audio, video and images in addition to text. The company also allows users to search for people who have worked on a particular project or search for subject experts.

Last year, Dropbox announced Dash for its business, encouraging businesses to use AI search. This year we are improving Dash’s enterprise tools by adding IT admin support to exclude some sensitive documents from search results.

Already a dropbox It has the ability to summarise using documents That ai. With this new release, the company is introducing new writing tools that leverage overviews from a variety of data sources to create new documents and presentations. The company said that because these tools live in Dash, they can collate information from emails, meeting notes and existing documents to create project plans, notes, or briefs. The core idea is that users don’t have to jump from one app to another to read the information and add it to the document.

Additionally, Dropbox is adding new integrations to Dash, including integrations with communication tools such as Slack, Zoom and Microsoft teams, as well as creative tools such as Figma, Canva and Jira. This helps users search for information across projects on various platforms, according to Dropbox.

As AI vendors release new AI models, they found it easier for companies working in the productivity and labor sector to look into AI and summarise it and generate new content based on it. The challenge for these companies is to build enough functionality while integrating with other platforms to keep their customers happy.
