It’s been almost eight months since Dyson announced the Dyson V16 Piston Animal, Dyson V10 Konical, and Dyson V8 Cyclone cordless vacuum cleaners at the Dyson Unveiled event. From June 2nd, you can finally purchase it. Every list of the best cordless vacuum cleaners on the internet is about to be turned upside down.
All three vacuums went live in Australia and the UK, but US consumers were left with a vague placeholder for release and pricing: “Sometime in 2026.” The new Dyson Stick vacuums are Dyson’s most affordable yet, ranging from $399 to $979 (compared to last year’s equivalents). If you’re thinking of buying a Dyson during Prime Day, you might want to read up on the new one before buying the old one on sale. Let’s get started.

In terms of cleaning accuracy, the V16 Piston Animal is the new best cordless Dyson vacuum model. The V16 piston delivers up to 315 AW (air watts) of suction power, more than the 250 AW of the current Dyson Gen5outsize Absolute. V16 automatically adjusts its impact based on floor type. And for the first time ever, the wand bends to make cleaning under furniture easier.
The V16 Piston Animal’s new cleaning head is a force to be reckoned with on its own. The All Floor Cones Sense head incorporates two super soft conical brush bars like those found on Dyson PencilVac Fluffycones, replacing the single fluffy roll that spanned the older Fluffy Optic heads. I’ve been touting the Dyson laser and fluffy head combination for picking up pet hair on hardwood floors for years. This is just that, but more powerful than ever.

The Dyson box also includes a carpet forward motorbar cleaning head, a mini electric pet tool, and a crevice tool. The Dyson V16 Piston Animal is priced at $979 and is available now. For $1,099, you can also use the improved Submarine 2.0 cleaning head for wet and dry cleaning. Impressively, both versions of the V16 piston are more affordable at launch than the 2023 Gen5outsize vacuum cleaner, which debuts at $1,049 and is not compatible with submarine heads.

The Dyson V10 Konical is the most dynamic sub-$500 Dyson we’ve ever seen. Cleaning performance has been improved compared to the current V10 and V11 models thanks to the new detangling cone head and green LED for debris illumination. This makes it the most affordable Dyson with a laser at its debut, beating out the Dyson V12 Detect Slim, which originally launched at $649.99.
The new V10 dustbin returns to the horizontal design familiar from V7 and V8 models. Unlike the V16’s vertical design, you don’t point directly at the trash can to empty it. But emptying your V10 manually will no longer be a pain when self-emptying dock stations hit the market in August. That’s right, Dyson has finally gotten there.

There were two paths Dyson could take with the V8 series. Either abolish it or reinstate it. Dyson chose the latter, and the redesigned Dyson V8 is a much better value than the previous model.
This version has 30% more suction power, an enhanced filtration system, and a battery life of up to 60 minutes, almost double the previous V8 model’s typical 30-40 minutes. At $399, the 2026 V8 is the cheapest Dyson vacuum cleaner we’ve ever seen (no discounts). A self-emptying docking station will also be available in August.
