Dyson’s best Prime Day deals: discounts on Dyson V12 Detect Slim and Supersonic

We’ve put together a quick summary of Dyson’s great deals ahead of Prime Day.

Dyson feels like one of those brands you see everywhere you go during events like Prime Day. Amazon is a good place to find deals on Dyson Supersonic and Airwrap, but historically Amazon hasn’t been known for amazing deals on Dyson vacuums.

Instead, Dyson’s website often uses Amazon’s sale events as a sign that its own big sale is coming. Sure enough, a big Dyson sale event with special discounts will be held from June 21st to June 27th this year. This is the same week as Prime Day, which runs from June 23rd to 26th.

Which Dyson vacuum cleaner should you buy on Prime Day?

Several Dyson models are some of the best cordless vacuums you can buy overall, but just because they’re on sale doesn’t mean every Dyson vacuum is worth your money. For example, the Dyson V8 Absolute’s sale price of $349.99 is amazing, isn’t it? How can you ignore a $240 discount on a Dyson vacuum cleaner?

You may or may not have heard that Dyson launched three new stick vacuums in early June. One is an improved version of the Dyson V8, which has 30% more suction power and nearly doubles the battery life than the older V8 model. The new Dyson V8 Cyclone costs just $399.99, which is only $50 more than the less capable V8 Absolute model on sale. Additionally, an automatic ejection docking station for the V8 Cyclone will arrive in August.

Why I like it

When my favorite vacuum cleaner goes a few hundred dollars cheaper, that’s the first deal I recommend. The Dyson V12 Detect Slim sells for $479.99, which is $20 less than the just-released Dyson V10 Konical (at list price, it’s the new cheapest Dyson with a laser). The V12 Detect Slim has a suction power of 150 AW (air watts) and a run time of 60 minutes.

The laser’s ability to illuminate tiny spots and hairs that aren’t often visible to the naked eye could quickly become a selling point for homes with pets and hard floors. Even if you don’t know how dusty the floor will be within 24 hours.

When I’m not using it on the floor for daily tasks, I switch it to handheld mode and use the small electric attachment to clean the fur on my couch, or the crevice attachment to clean my car. It’s compact and light enough to comfortably hold in one hand (the same can’t be said for the giant Gen5 Dyson or Dyson V16 Piston Animal).
