The World Cup has its fair share of celebrity guests, but Ed Norton’s attendance at Thursday’s game between the United States and Turkey caused quite a stir on the internet.
The actor attended the match along with other celebrities including Colin Farrell and, importantly, former Fight Club co-star Brad Pitt.

Admittedly, this doesn’t mean much unless you’ve seen Fight Club, David Fincher’s 1999 psychological thriller about two men who start an underground bare-knuckle fight club together.
The plot twist (and spoiler alert for 27 years ago)? Pitt’s character never really exists. He’s just a representation of Norton’s character’s damaged psyche.
