Tech Mogul believes in attacks that left 40,000 without access to sites coordinated by “large groups” or “country.”

Tech billionaire Elon Musk says his social media platform X has been targeted in “major cyberattacks” after the service went down, with tens of thousands of users not able to access their accounts.

According to the tracking website downdetector.com, complaints about the outages spiked at 10:00 and 14:00 GMT on Monday had more than 40,000 users not able to access the platform.

Staying on X, Musk posted that the platform is targeted daily, but the latest attacks were “on many resources” and “a large, coordinated group and/or country.” He provided no evidence of his claim.

According to Downdetector.com, the worst of the chaos occurred along the US coast.

In March 2023, the social media platform, then known as Twitter, experienced more than an hour of glitches as the link stopped working. Some users were unable to log in and images could not be loaded for others.

Musk bought Twitter in 2022 and quickly fired most of his staff. Repeated technical issues followed, followed by a prominent shift to the right of the site’s discourse.

Musk, one of US President Donald Trump’s most influential allies, posted his accusations in response to another drawing link between the suspension and the recent controversy, including work with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

Musk and Kudji’s team were entrusted by Trump to reduce the size and costs of federal officials. To date, approximately 25,000 workers have been fired, and an additional 75,000 have been acquired from the private federal workforce of 2.3 million.

The billionaire’s political activities sparked widespread outrage across the United States, including Tesla dealers and fire protests set up at Tesla plants outside of Berlin and Tesla charging stations.

In addition to overseeing the firing of thousands of federal workers, Musk plays a major role in cancelling more than 83% of all US International Development Organization programs.

On Sunday, Musk walked to geopolitics, saying that the “wide frontline will collapse” of the Ukrainian military.

Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said Poland, which pays Ukrainian Starlink fees to repel Russian invasion, fought back, saying it might need to look for alternative suppliers.

Musk later denounced Sikorsky himself, saying, “Silently, be a little man. You’ll pay a small portion of the cost. And there’s no substitute for Starlink.”
