The 20th European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) will be held from 9 to 11 June 2026 under the overarching theme “Clean, Safe and Competitive Energy Union”, the European Commission has announced.
EUSEW (Europe’s largest annual gathering focused on renewable energy and efficient energy use), to be held in Brussels and online, will highlight the importance of building a secure and resilient energy union and delivering clean and affordable energy.
The EUUSEW Policy Conference will feature more than 60 dynamic and innovative sessions hosted by the clean energy community. Next to the policy sessions, the event will offer keynote speeches, the EUUSEW awards ceremony and networking opportunities at the Energy Fair, celebrating the people, projects and initiatives driving Europe’s clean and sustainable energy transition.

A call to the experts: Shaping the clean energy debate
In the run-up to the conference, the Commission has now opened a call for policy session proposals until January 22, 2026, inviting industry representatives, policy experts, civil society and academia members to shape the event and contribute their insights and expertise to the clean energy debate.
EUUSEW 2026 will recognize outstanding individuals and projects for their innovations and initiatives in the field of energy efficiency and renewable energy across three categories: community energy activities, women in energy, and small and medium-sized enterprises promoting energy efficiency for the first time this year. Applications for the EUUSEW Award are being accepted until January 29, 2026.
If you are interested, please reserve a date for the information session, which will be held online on Wednesday, December 3rd from 11:00 to 12:30 (CET).
Participants will hear directly from the European Commission about the application requirements and selection criteria for the various contributions, including the theme of the event, the various milestones during the preparatory stages and during the conference, how to propose and organize policy sessions, and how to apply or nominate for the EUUSEW award.
A timeline, Q&A, and recording of the information session can be found on the EUUSEW 2026 information page.
