The highway area under construction collapsed in anseong, killing or injuring all 10 workers in existence.

Four people were killed and six injured in South Korea after the collapse of the promotion of the highway under construction collapsed on Tuesday, fire officials said.

The National Fire Department said 10 people had worked on the Anseong city site, about 65 km (40 miles) south of the capital Seoul.

The accident occurred at 9:49am (00:49 GMT). This caused five 50 meters (164 feet) steel structures supporting the highway bridge to collapse, trapping workers in tiled rubs.

The cause of the collapse was not immediately known.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said it had dispatched a team of officials to the scene.

Hyundai Engineering, the site builder, apologized for the loss of life and injuries.

“We are actively working with relevant authorities to ensure a prompt site recovery and a thorough investigation into the exact cause of the accident,” according to Yonghap News, in a statement. .

Foreman Choi Sang Mok has called for all available personnel to mobilize and ensure safety measures to prevent further damage, his office said.

Choi became South Korea’s representative president in December after President Choi Ol was fired on December 3rd for the declaration of martial law.

Yoon appeared in court last week for a preliminary hearing on allegations that he was trying to coordinate the rebellion before a criminal trial.

In the first such action taken against the sitting South Korean president, police arrested Yoon on January 15 after a week’s standoff at his residential facility.

Fatal accidents continue to occur regularly on Korean industrial sites, and in 2022 introduced the law to punish corporate management if workers are killed at work.

At the beginning of February, six people died in a fire at a hotel construction site in a port city in Busan, and after evacuated to the rooftop, about 100 people including 14 workers safely picked by helicopters .

Last June, a fire at a lithium battery factory killed 23 workers after authorities condemned quality control failures and inadequate safety training.
