He was confined to solitary confinement in another prison for 25 days, where he was interrogated non-stop by Israeli forces, Israeli intelligence agency and police, the lawyer added.

“Even though he denied all charges against him, he was beaten with an electric rod by the Israeli army to extract confessions from him,” the lawyer said.

The lawyer said there was no “legal justification” in Abu Safia’s arrest, adding that “the accusation requires evidence and there is no true, complete accusation against Dr. Hussam unless there is evidence.” .

Abu Safia, who documented the brutal effects of Israeli attacks on Kamal Adwan Hospital, was arrested after refusing multiple military threats to leave the hospital during a catastrophic lockdown in the northern Gaza Strip.

The doctor was also reportedly seen in December when he was released by two prisoners at SDE Teiman Base in Israel’s Negev Desert, a controversial facility known for extreme abuse of detainees. Masu.

“Thousands have disappeared.”

Noor Ode of Al Jazeera, who reported from Amman, Jordan, said the doctor was one of hundreds of medical workers who were taken from Gaza by the Israeli military to the infamous Sde Teiman detention camp and other Israeli military prisons. He said.

“At least his family knows where he is and he is alive.

The Prisoner Affairs Committee and the Prisoner Association have issued a report citing lawyers for Palestinian detainees who said they had been seriously tortured in Israeli detention.
