Gaza “The Most Hungry Place on Earth”, All People at Risk of Hungry, United Nations Warning | Israeli-Palestinian Conflict News

Gaza is “the most hungry place on the planet,” warning the UN that its entire population is at risk of hunger. A desperate Palestinian is shot dead, starved and kicked out of their homes by Israeli forces.

Calling Israel to stop its intentional starvation campaign and allow food to be made to the enclaves, the United Nations on Friday said Palestinians in Gaza are the mission “most stumped in recent history.”

“The aid operations we are ready to roll are placed in operational restraint jackets, which have become one of the most hampered aid operations not only in today’s world but in recent history,” said the spokesperson coordination office for the United Nations Humanitarian Cooperation (OCHA).

He added that of the 900 aid trucks approved for entry from the Israeli side of Kalem Abu Salem Crossing, known as Israeli Kerem Shalom, under 600 were offloaded in Gaza, with less than 600 being picked up for distribution.

“There’s no flour, no oil, no sugar, no food. I’m gathering moldy bread and feeding my kids. I want to get a bag of flour for my kids. I want to eat it. I’m hungry.”

In a report from Gaza city, Hani Mahmoud of Al Jazeera said the northern part of the strip, including Gaza city, “has not received a drop of aid from the aid permitted in the past few days.”

“People from the Central Region” [southern] “Khan Eunice and Rafa struggle every day to find food supplies, especially when it comes to flour and other basic essentials to help them survive these difficult conditions,” he added.

Palestinians leave aid points empty-handed

After nearly three months of lockdown, Israel has allowed limited aid and limited UN projects to enter into reopening, under pressure from Western governments and international humanitarian organisations.

However, Israel has also promoted the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), a shadowy US-backed private aid distributor, providing essential food aid to hungry Palestinians.

The UN and other aid groups have refused to cooperate with the GHF, saying it is not neutral and its distribution model forces Palestinian displacement.

Still, UN spokesman Stephen Dujaric told reporters on Friday. He said that the aid to reach those in need is “good” but the delivery of aid “has very, very little impact.”

“The devastating situation in Gaza is the worst since the war began,” he said.

People like Palestinian displaced people like Layla Al-Masri are left empty-handed, as only three of the four distribution points set up to receive assistance from the GHF are set up.

“Everything they say about the will to feed the people of Gaza is a lie. They don’t feed people or drink them,” she said.

“Paren who give water to children”

Another evacuated Palestinian, Abdel Qadar Rabi, said he would not eat anything to his family. “There’s nothing in the house, no flour, no food, no bread,” he said.

“Every time I go to get help, I have hundreds of people flock to me with boxes. Previously, Unrwa [UN agency for Palestinian refugees] It is used to send a message to me, [and] I’ll go and get help. There’s nothing now. If you are strong, you will receive assistance. If not, I’ll leave empty-handed,” Qader Rabie said.

UN Humanitarian Affairs spokesman Eri Kaneko criticized the types of aid that UN agencies are allowed to bring to Gaza.

“Israeli authorities do not allow people to bring in any ready-to-eat meals. The only food allowed was bakery flour.

Palestinians who received GHF Aid said the package contained rice, flour, canned food, pasta, olive oil, biscuits and sugar.

Meanwhile, Michael Fakri, the UN Special Rapporteur on Food Rights, described the GHF as “a breaching all principles of international law” and “feeding for people in enclosures.”

“This is the aid used to drive people out of the north into militarized zones… and it’s about humiliating people, and it’s about controlling the population. This has nothing to do with stopping starvation,” he said.

Khoudary behind Al Jazeera, reporting from Deir El-Balah in Gaza, said there is not much food in the enclave as there are a number of trucks in it and the aid they are carrying is very limited.

“Despite the truck entry in the past few days, Palestinians say they have not actually received food because they have no normal distribution points,” she said, adding that many have empty pots and returned.

“Some parents say they give water just to fill their children.
