Google has made its biggest ever acquisition by purchasing cloud security company Wiz at full speeds worth $32 billion.
“This acquisition represents an investment by Google Cloud to accelerate two major growth trends in the AI era: improvements in cloud security and the ability to use multiple clouds (MulticLoud),” Tech Giant said today.
The acquisition, subject to regulatory approval, is intended to provide customers with a “comprehensive security platform” that protects the modern IT environment.
By bringing together cloud delivery and Wiz, Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian said the move “helps the adoption of multi-cloud cybersecurity, the use of multi-cloud, and the competition and growth of cloud computing.”

Wiz CEO Assaf Rappaport said it will remain an independent multi-cloud platform even after the transaction is closed, and it will work with other cloud companies such as AWS, Azure and Oracle.
Development has been around three years since Google acquired Mandiant for $5.4 billion. It also arrived more than seven months after the company failed to try to get a Wiz with the reported $23 billion price tag.
Other security-related acquisitions from Google include Virustotal (September 2012) and Siemplify (January 2022).
