On Monday, Google announced that it had officially released its NotebookLM app for Android and iOS one day before Google I/O 2025, and a day before the company said it would roll out.

Since its launch in 2023, AI-based note-taking and research assistants are only accessible via the desktop. Google is currently making its services available on the go.

NoteBookLM is designed to help people better understand complex information through features such as smart summaries and the ability to ask questions about documents and other materials.

This app gives you access to an overview of audio, an AI-generated podcast in Notebook Lum, based on the source material you provided. Audio overview includes background playback and offline support.

Also, the app allows people to create new notes and view notes they have already created. Additionally, if you want to view a website, PDF, or YouTube video on your device, you can add it as a new source by tapping the share icon and selecting NotebookLM. Users can also view sources that have already been uploaded to each notebook.

Notebooklm for Android and iOS also features a bright dark mode that is applied based on the system settings of the user’s device.

Given the timing of the launch, Google may share more about the app during its company I/O keynote on Tuesday.
