More than a dozen governments denounced Israel after troops fired in the direction of a diplomatic delegation near the occupied West Bank refugee camp.

The Israeli Army said soldiers fired “warning shots” after diplomats, including foreign diplomats who deviated from routes previously agreed by representatives from the European Union, Britain, Russia and China.

“[Israeli] Soldiers operating in the area fired warning shots to keep them apart,” Israeli Foreign Ministry said.

No one was injured in the incident.

Some of the reactions from political leaders to the incident are:

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Kearney

The Israeli Ambassador was summoned to a global issue to see and explain to the Minister. We expect a full investigation and we hope to give an immediate explanation of what happened. That’s not acceptable at all. That’s some of the totally unacceptable many things happening in this area.

State Rep. Hamish Falconer of the UK Parliament

Today’s event at Jenin is unacceptable. I spoke to the influenced diplomats. Civilians must be protected at all times, and diplomats are allowed to do their jobs. A complete investigation is required and the person responsible must be accountable.

Ireland’s Prime Minister Michael Martin

I’m deeply shocked and terrified by it [Israeli forces] Today, we fired a group of diplomats visiting the town of Jenin. Thankfully, no one was killed or injured.

I indifferently condemn this offensive, intimidating and violent act. This is not something that is not the usual way to work.

Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani

I ask the Israeli government to immediately clarify what happened. The threat to the diplomat is unacceptable.

Dutch Foreign Minister Casper Berdkamp

Diplomats can do their job and are not acceptable to threaten them. I called the Dutch representatives of Palestinian territory and the Israeli ambassador. I was relieved that the delegation was unharmed. We are condemning the shooting, calling for clarification from Israeli authorities, and considering further measures.

French Foreign Minister Jean Noel Barlot

A visit to Jenin, which was attended by one of our diplomats, was fired by Israeli soldiers. This is unacceptable. The Israeli ambassador is summoned to explain. Full support for on-site agents and their incredible work in trial conditions.

Finland Foreign Minister Erina Waldton

This is a very serious and condemning incident. I spoke with a Finnish diplomat who was present in the situation. I request Israel to explain the situation.

Danish Foreign Minister Lars Rocke Rasmussen

It is unacceptable that Israel fired a shot near a foreign diplomat. There is no place anywhere and is completely unacceptable.

Ramala’s Danish mission chief is one of the diplomats and is fortunately safe. In light of the severity of the situation, I asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to summon the Israeli ambassador so that he could obtain an official explanation.

Belgium’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Maxim Prevott

I was shocked to learn that the Israeli army had fired fire on 20 diplomats today, including a Belgian colleague. Luckily he’s fine. These diplomats were on official visits to Jenin, coordinated with Israeli forces, on a convoy of 20 clearly recognizable vehicles. Belgium is seeking a compelling explanation from Israel.

Norway’s Foreign Minister Espen Bass Ide

I blame the attack [the Israeli military] Against a group of diplomats at Jenin today. Diplomatic and consulate staff must enjoy and be protected by special status under international law. These actions constitute a clear violation of international law and are highly unacceptable.

Portugal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Portugal condemns Israeli forces’ attacks on diplomatic delegations at the Jenin refugee camp on the West Bank. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed solidarity with the Portuguese ambassador, who is part of the delegation and will take appropriate diplomatic measures.

German Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The Federal Foreign Office has strongly condemned the unprovoked fire. We are lucky enough to count that nothing more serious happened.

The group traveled the West Bank in collaboration with Palestinian authorities and Israeli forces during their diplomatic work. The role of diplomats as independent observers on earth is essential and never represents a threat to Israel’s security interests.

The Israeli government must immediately investigate the situation and respect the inviolability of diplomats.

Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs in Slovenia

Slovenia has joined EU partners to condemn the shootings that threatened diplomats in the Jenin camp.

Such intimidation violates the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations and is completely unacceptable. We expect quick and transparent Israeli investigation, complete accountability and assurance of safe and unhindered access to all diplomatic missions.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates in Jordan

This is a clear violation of international law and international humanitarian law, and a crime that violates all diplomatic norms.

Ambassador Sufian Kuda, the official spokesman for the ministry, confirmed the absolute rejection of the kingdom and its targeting, particularly the violation of the 1961 Vienna Treaty.

Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Qatar province strongly condemns Israeli occupation forces for firing on international diplomatic delegations during its visit to the occupied West Bank refugee camp, and is considered a violation of international law, treaties and diplomatic norms.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Torkier

When we visit the city of Jenin, we condemn the opening of fires by Israeli soldiers to a group of diplomats, including officials from the Turkish Consulate General in Jerusalem, in the strongest terms.

This attack, which puts the lives of diplomats at risk, is another demonstration of Israel’s systematic neglect of international law and human rights. Diplomat targeting constitutes a serious threat to mutual respect and trust that forms the basis of individual security as well as interstate relations.

Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The Arab Republic of Egypt emphasizes its absolute rejection of the incident, which violates all diplomatic norms and calls on Israeli side to provide necessary explanations regarding the circumstances of the incident.

Uruguay’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned Montevid’s Israeli ambassador to clarify the incident.

Uruguay is urging the Israeli government to investigate the incident, ensure protection and take necessary steps to allow Palestinian-certified diplomatic personnel to operate.

Mexico Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Israeli forces justified the action by stating that the diplomatic delegation had invaded “illegal areas.” However, there is no record of this outbreak, and officers approaching the delegation will warn you in a verbal and timely oral and timely manner.

What happened violates the provisions of Article 29 of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations establishing the inviolability of diplomatic agents. All parties to the foregoing Convention, including Israel, are obligated to respect it.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls on the Israeli Embassy in Mexico to provide clarification that the case guarantees.
