The revolutionary class struggle argues an attack on the province dedicated to railway operators and the “Palestinians.”
Greek police say they are investigating claims by unknown Hardline groups that they are responsible for the explosion of several bombs that have rocked Athens over the past year.
A police spokesperson told Greek media that the authorities were considering a statement issued by the revolutionary class struggle that was behind Friday’s explosion near the office of railway operator Helenic train last week, as well as an attack at the Labour Ministry last year.
The group posted a statement on the website Athens.indymedia.org on Sunday. This dedicated an attack on “Palestinians and their heroic resistance.”
“This claim is being considered with great care by relevant officers so that information can be collected,” police spokeswoman Constantina Dimogridou told Action 24 TV.
She said it was too early to come to conclusions about the group’s identity, but police had previously investigated possible links to other cases.
A statement of revolutionary class struggle denounced Helenic Train, a unit of Italian Ferovie delo Stato, due to the 2023 railway accident near Tempe, a Greek village.
The crash that killed 57 people has led to many protests against the defects in the railway system and claims of corruption in the government.
The group’s statements attempted to brand demonstrations against “state capital crimes” and link them to wars in Palestine and Gaza.
The statement also said the group was behind the 2024 attack on the Ministry of Labor. Neither attack was injured as warnings were sent in advance.
Helenic Train, the operator of passenger and freight train services, was once a subsidiary of the state-owned Helenic Railway.
In February, the Greek Aviation Accident Investigation Agency (Hersia) said the 2023 accident was due to a chronic safety gap and that it still needs to be addressed to prevent repetition.
Harsia’s head Christos Papajimitriu resigned on Wednesday, and was expected to further stall efforts to shed light on the country’s worst rail disaster.
The judicial investigation is expected to end this year.
