Losing federal research grants could mean less research opportunities for Harvard undergraduates. If funding is cut, it also means that teachers will be less exposed to top-class researchers if they drive away the teachers.
Last month, Harvard expanded its financial aid, so middle-class families didn’t have to pay as much for tuition, rooms or boards. It is not clear whether losing federal grants could affect those plans.
