David Theslav, CEO of Warner Bros Discovery, says that, as the Hollywood Reporter first reported, HBO Max will become more expensive and it will be difficult to share passwords. Zaslav spoke about the future of streaming services at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference.
“The fact that this is quality — and the fact that it is true across our company, film, television production, streaming quality — I think we all give you the opportunity to raise prices,” he said. “We think the prices are low.”
Zaslav also said that the crackdown on streaming services against passwords will come in the future.
“We haven’t pushed password sharing and economics yet,” he said. “People are really beginning to love HBO Max. That’s the key. Our content, our series, differentiated products outside of the US, are all difficult with password sharing. We start pushing it.”
Currently, the basic price for the ADS plan is $9.99 per month, the standard plan is $16.99 per month, and the premium plan is $20.99 per month.
