Ukhospitality will work with the Ministry of Jobs and Pensions (DWP) to announce which areas will implement swap programs, assist people in hospitality jobs, and provide hospitality skills passports.

The new program will train job seekers with hospitality skills in a work environment and provide both workplace experience and guaranteed interviews with employer choice. Nationally and regionally operated companies work with JobCentre Plus and local training providers.

Successful participants will also receive a new Hospitality Skills Passport, an innovative, digitally transferred award that demonstrates their abilities and qualifications. This passport is accredited by the awarding organisation OCN London and by Ukhospitality, the sector’s leading trade body.

The areas that are configured to benefit from the Hospitality Swap program include:

East: Great Yarmouth, Norwich, Skegnes, Suffolk. Midland: Birmingham, Coventry. North: Blackpool, Cumbria, Liverpool, Manchester, Scarborough. Southeast: Bunbury, Bournemouth, East Kent, Guilford, Gravesham, London, Midkent, Milton Keynes, North Kent, Reading, Worthing. Southwest: Exeter, Sorrento, Torbey, Truro & Penwire.

“We are pleased to announce that we are committed to providing a range of services and services to providing services that will help us to create a range of services,” said Kate Nicholls, CEO of Ukhospitality. “This is a very exciting program we are leading in partnership with DWP, and has been proven to bring concrete benefits to both job seekers and hospitality businesses.

“Providing hospitality skills passports through the program is important to provide recruits with a way to demonstrate qualifications and avoid duplication of employer training.”

Employment Minister Alison McGovern MP commented: “Swaps are an important part of our mission to keep people in longer paying jobs and spend more money in our pockets.

“Add to this, we have committed to delivering 100,000 new swap locations next year. We will bring the UK to work as part of our plan for change.”
