The Yemen-based group says that the polar missile fired at Ben Gurion Airport in the second attack after Israel defeated the Gaza ceasefire.

A group in Yemen said it launched a polar missile at Israeli Ben Gurion airport a few days after Israeli forces violated the ceasefire in Gaza.

“The Yemeni military has carried out a qualitative military operation targeting Ben Gurion airport in the Jaffa region, which was occupied by Palestine-bipolar ballistic missiles,” Khahiya Sari, a spokesman for Hooty, said Thursday.

He said the surgery “successfully achieved its purpose.” It was the second attack since the US launched a new air raid campaign against rebels earlier this week.

Israeli forces said they intercepted missiles early on Thursday before entering the country’s territory. In some parts of Israel, sirens sounded after projectiles were fired, the military said in a telegram post.

Israeli police said sirens were heard in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. An Israeli ambulance said no serious injuries were reported.

The US has been targeting Yemen in a wave of strikes since Saturday, and the Houtis has declared that it will escalate the attack, including Israel, accordingly. The US attack killed at least 31 people.

On Tuesday, the Houtis launched a ballistic missile at Israel, saying it would retaliate for Israel’s truce in Gaza to expand its target range in the coming days.

The new Israeli attacks since Tuesday have killed at least 710 Palestinians and injured more than 900 people, according to Gaza’s health ministry.

Houthis says it has carried out more than 100 attacks on transport since the Israeli war with Gaza began in late 2023 and is acting in solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza.

On Wednesday, US President Donald Trump renewed his call for Iran to end support for the Housis, pledging that the Yemeni group will be defeated by Washington.

Although Houthis is allied with Iran, it is not clear how much it relies on Iran’s support, or whether Tehran can order it to stop the attack.
