AI research institute Anthropic on Monday announced new agreements with Google and Broadcom for increased processing and computing power to power its Claude AI models. The latest overhaul of the company’s computing deals comes as demand for its AI models continues to soar.

The deal expands Anthropic’s use of Google Cloud’s tensor processing units (TPUs), the company’s advanced AI chips, and is an expansion of an agreement the two companies signed in October 2025 for more than 1 gigawatt of computing power.

This new computing power is expected to be operational in 2027, Anthropic said in a blog post. The company did not provide details about the computing expansion, but recent Broadcom SEC filings indicate the deal includes 3.5 gigawatts of computing power.

Anthropic said in the post that the majority of this computing will be located in the United States and is an extension of the company’s $50 billion investment in U.S. computing infrastructure.

“This groundbreaking partnership with Google and Broadcom is a continuation of our disciplined approach to infrastructure expansion. We are building the capabilities needed to support the rapid growth of our customer base while enabling Claude to define the frontier of AI development,” Krishna Rao, CFO at Anthropic, said in a press release. “We are undertaking our most significant computing effort to date to keep pace with our unprecedented growth.”

Anthropic did not respond to TechCrunch’s request for comment.

The company has seen an explosion in demand for its Claude models in recent months, driven by corporate customers, despite the U.S. Department of Defense identifying Anthropic as a supply chain risk. Anthropic also recently closed a $30 billion Series G funding round that values the company at $380 billion.

The company’s run-rate revenue is now $30 billion, a significant increase from the $9 billion the company recorded at the end of 2025, the company said in a statement. Anthropic also has more than 1,000 commercial customers who spend more than $1 million on an annual basis.
