International Convention Centre Wales (ICC Wales) responded following news that the Britt Award will take place in Manchester next year in London in 50 years.

The ceremony will take place at Co-op Live Arena on February 28th, after being held at London’s 02 Arena for the past 15 years.

This is the first ceremony outside of London since the award began in 1977.

This news adds to the growing trends of cultural events expanding beyond London.

“We are pleased to announce that Amy Phillips, sales manager at ICC Wales,” said:

She explained that Wales offers a “unique combination” of cost-effectiveness without compromising quality, and that ICC Wales has held major international events since its opening in 2019.

Next year, ICC Wales will be setto Host The WorldChefs Congress and Expo 2026.

Phillips said: “Our venue boasts world-class infrastructure, excellent connectivity and flexible event space, which complements the availability of accommodation over more oversaturated destinations.

She added: “Wales offers a rich cultural and experiential appeal, along with stronger community and industry connections that can enrich all events. With this collaborative spirit, the event leaves a lasting legacy beyond the duration of the event.

“As we are proving, there’s a life that really transcends London, and it’s thriving, sustainable and exciting.”
