India is lined up Commonwealth Games bids as a springboard that hopes to host the 2036 Olympics.
India submitted a “expression of interest” to perform the 2030 Commonwealth Games. This is the perfect dress rehearsal for the country’s big dream of hosting the Olympics six years later.
India, which has never held the Olympics, performed the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi. However, while the event itself was deemed a success, what had been accumulated by allegations of corruption and mismanagement were damaged.

“We have sent an expression of interest and hope that the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) will consider our proposal,” India Olympic Association (IOA) President Pt Usha told Reuters on Friday.
India will be optimistic to land a centenary version of the multisport rally, primarily British colonies, especially as the game has struggled to find takers these days.
Glasgow, Scotland, will host a game-removed version of the game next year after the original host, Victoria, Australia, cited escalate costs.
The 2022 game moved to Birmingham after the city of Durban, South Africa, withdrew due to economic issues.
Bidders must submit expressions of interest to host the 2030 edition until March 31st.
In an email to Reuters, CGF said the process is ongoing and will provide details “in time.”
The world’s most populous country has also been bid for the 2036 Olympics, with Ahmedabad, in western Gujarat, performing what is considered to be the “great show on earth” at the heart of India’s grand scheme.
