Israel carried out hundreds of strikes in Syria after former President Bashar al-Assad fell in December.

Israel reports that Syrian provincial media is reporting near Tartas, a Syrian Mediterranean port city.

An Israeli military statement on Monday said its forces “raided military locations where weapons belonging to the previous Syrian regime were kept in the area of Kaldah.”

Sana, a Syrian state news agency, reported “an aerial attacks carried out by Israeli occupied aircraft around the city of Tartas without recording human losses so far,” adding “Civil defense and expert teams are working to determine the location of the target.”

In the wake of a lightning attack last December that defeated Syrian longtime leader Al Assad, Israel launched hundreds of airstrikes on Syrian military assets by saying it was a bid to prevent it from falling into hostile hands.

Last Tuesday, the Israeli Army said it had implemented an air force targeting military sites, including weapons in southern Syria, days after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called for criticism of the region.

Israel moved its troops to the UN-surveillanced demilitarized zone in Syria after the removal of al-Assad. Israel also controls areas outside the buffer zone, including Mount Harmon, and has repeatedly bombed attacks at military locations.

Last week, participants at Syria’s National Dialogue Conference confirmed Netanyahu’s rejection of “provocative” statements and urged the international community to condemn “Israel invasion” to stop “aggression and violations.”

The conference also opposed Israel’s attempts to blow away sectarian tensions by showing its willingness to protect Syrian minority communities.
