Gillespie says Aaqib weakened him and former whiteball coach Gary Kirsten to grab his own coaching job.
Former Pakistani Test cricket coach Jason Gillespie accused his successor, Akib, of labeling him as “clowns,” and undermining him in order to take charge of him and former whiteball coach Gary Kirsten in all forms.
Gillespie’s comments responded to a social media post containing a quote from AAQIB a few days after host Pakistan fell crash from the ICC Champions Trophy without winning.
Aaqib told reporters on Tuesday that Pakistan changed 16 coaches and 26 selectors in about two years, and that in such a situation, everyone will struggle.
“This is hilarious,” Australia’s Gillespie told social media.
“Aaqib was clearly undermining Gary, I am behind the scenes campaigning to become a coach in all forms.
“He’s a clown.”

Gillespie, who signed a two-year contract with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in April, left Red Ball coach in December amid media coverage of the collapse of its relationship with the board. He was replaced by aaqib.
Kirsten resigned as Whiteball coach in October and just six months after getting a job, Gillespie was filled with South Africans during Australia’s limited overtour.
Javed was named Pakistan interim whiteball coach until the Champions Trophy and his assignments were expanded from March 16 to a New Zealand tour with five T20s and three ODIs.
Former Australian high-speed bowler Gillespie played 71 tests and 97 One Day Internationals between 1996 and 2006 before taking part in coaching.
Pakistan held its first major ICC event in 29 years, when the Champions Trophy returned after the eight-year gap, but the defending champions performed badly as they lost two group games and washed away one.
Immediately after the exit, Pakistan dropped star batter Baba Azam and white ball captain Mohammadrizwan from the T20 team and appointed Salman Aliaga as T20 captain.
Aqib, who also serves as the national selector of Pakistan, acknowledged that chopping and change were not helping the national team.
“We have changed nearly 16 coaches and 26 selectors over the past two years or so,” he announced the latest overhaul of Pakistan’s limited overtaking. “You have that formula on every team in the world, and I think they are in the same situation.
“The team doesn’t make progress until consistency is consistently from bottom to bottom and from chair to bottom.”
Pakistan will travel to New Zealand from March 16 for a five-match T20 series and a three-match ODI series.
