Streamer University first launched in May 2025 when Cenat hosted its first four-day event at the University of Akron. The program provides rising creators with access to the streaming world’s leading artists while also helping them build audiences across platforms. Selected students will participate in a multi-day experience focused on networking, content creation, mentoring, and collaboration. Accepted participants will be compensated for everything from attendance to meals and lodging.
This year’s return began in June when Cenat announced Streamer University 2026 with a trailer for the film posted on his social media accounts. The video leaned into the school theme, showing the Senat approaching an abandoned Hogwarts-like streamer university, overtaken by an owl carrying a dusty application form.

Applications are now open online for three tracks: students, professors, and club directors. Prospective students were required to be at least 18 years old, able to travel within the United States, and submit at least one social media account for consideration. Applicants were also asked to submit a short video demonstrating their personality, content style, and why they want to participate.
The 2026 rollout already showed how big the streamer university had become before Cenat announced the final roster. In June, the company held in-person audition events in cities including New York, Los Angeles and Atlanta, attracting up-and-coming creators who wanted to take classes.
Thousands of people gathered outside Atlanta’s State Farm Arena on Wednesday, June 17, and auditions were ultimately canceled due to safety concerns regarding turnout.

That request didn’t come out of nowhere. According to a 2023 Morning Consult study, 57% of Gen Zers said they would become an influencer if given the opportunity as the top reasons why they were attracted to this career path, citing money, flexibility, and fun. The problem is that as a creator’s career becomes more glamorous, it becomes harder to stand out. Streamer University gives select creators something that would be difficult to build alone: access to major names, built-in collaboration, and the opportunity to be seen by a much larger audience than themselves.
With over 20 million followers on Twitch, Cenat is currently the most followed streamer on the platform, but his influence now extends far beyond his channel. Streamer University has become one of the clearest examples of that reach. The creator-driven event is large enough to draw large crowds, celebrities, and student classes who hope the right collaboration can change everything.
