Katie Holmes evokes ‘office siren’ at Max Mara Resort 2027 show

Katie Holmes put her own sensual spin on “office siren” fashion by pairing a tailored tuxedo jacket with a full-length satin skirt at the Max Mara 2027 Resort show in Shanghai on Tuesday.

With a pleated skirt puddled at her feet, a matching knit undershirt, and a suit jacket slung over her shoulders, Holmes looked as if she were attending a fancy soirée (and in many ways, she was). Still, the outfit, which included square cat-eye sunglasses and a studded handbag, was typical of Miranda Priestley, Runway magazine’s fashion editor, sitting at her desk in The Devil Wears Prada.

The front of the double-breasted tuxedo jacket pops with satin lapels, tying in with the material of the skirt while adding texture to the top of Holmes’ ensemble. Meanwhile, her shoes were hidden under untailored hems, elongating her figure. Like the shoes, Holmes’ sunglasses also covered her face, allowing only her rosy glow to be captured by the camera flash. But next to Maria Giulia Prezioso Maramotti, Holmes removed her shades to reveal lightly shaded eyes and topline mascara.

It was her messy, out-of-place, tangled bun that transformed her look from that of a leading lady on a night out to that of a woman on the go. Holmes is yet to give credit to the stylist and glam team behind Tuesday’s aesthetic. But she recently collaborated with Bree Welch, hair architect DJ Quintero, and makeup artist Genevieve Herr for the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of Happy Hour. Here she paired a nude and lace nightgown with a half-up, half-down hairstyle, bronzed skin, and a matte burgundy lip.

For the after-party, the “Dawson’s Creek” star wore a romantic lace-trimmed camisole with leather pants, white point-toe boots, and a matching clutch bag. Holmes wore a white tank top under a satin nightgown, which intentionally left the straps of her black bra peeking out.
