Today will be a fairy tale.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding is scheduled to take place at Madison Square Garden on Friday, and is expected to be an elaborate event inside the iconic New York venue, with hundreds of people expected to attend, including the couple’s closest friends and family.
Many details about the pending wedding are still unclear, but a city permit obtained by The Associated Press indicates Friday’s wedding event could begin at 5 p.m. and last until 4 a.m. the next morning. A law enforcement official briefed on the security plan previously told The Associated Press that a small rehearsal dinner would be held Thursday night.
As guests were being dropped off Thursday night, a tented area blocked the view. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to publicly discuss the incident.

The wedding is the latest development in the superstar singer and soccer player’s relationship, which has continued to thrill and enchant millions of people around the world, especially the pop star’s passionate fan base, Swifties, for the past three years since they started dating.
Important questions remain about how Swift and Kelce turned MSG into a wedding venue fit for a billionaire and the Kansas City Chiefs’ star tight end, and who will perform and who will officiate. Trucks and staff have been in and out of the venue for several days, setting up tents and scraping up tons of materials, further fueling speculation about MSG’s transformation.
And while fans have seen Swift wear wedding dresses in numerous music videos over the years, many are looking forward to seeing what look she’ll sport on her wedding day.

Perhaps the biggest mystery concerns the selection of MSG. Swifties, commentators, and the public have spent weeks debating the merits of this venue, with some convincing themselves that it must be a smokescreen for the wedding to take place elsewhere. Others pointed out that the arena’s lack of windows and tight security would provide a rare opportunity for privacy and, more importantly, an extra layer of protection for the world’s most public couple.
New York City Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch has repeatedly declined to confirm whether Swift and Kelsey’s wedding will take place at MSG on Friday, but said the department will ensure adequate resources for each major weekend event, including the venue.
The wedding takes place on a crowded weekend even by New York standards. Over the Fourth of July weekend, the city will participate in celebrations of the nation’s 250th anniversary. Separately, a parade of dozens of large ships will take place on the Hudson River, and a World Cup game is scheduled for New Jersey. On top of that, a massive heat wave is also coming to the Northeast.
Earlier this week, Swift and Kelsea donated $26 million to 20 local and national charities across the United States. Many of the groups were in areas with deep ties to the couple, such as Nashville, Tennessee. Los Angeles; Kansas City, Missouri; And New York.
