Mindy Kaling plays Rachel Gilbert in ‘Unfit for Work’ premiere

Mindy Kaling shines in Rachel Gilbert gold at the premiere of her new series “Not Worth the Work” on Thursday night in Brooklyn, New York.

The “Running Point” creator wore a sleeveless metallic gold dress from the Australian luxury brand that shimmered and reflected magical light under the camera’s flashlight. The straps of the dress are cast in silver tone and encrusted with precious stones.

The square neckline of the midi dress also included a sparkling silver motif, before the rest of the dress transitioned into gold shards, creating warmer tones and cast into Kaling’s overall look. The dress was made with a near-fitted silhouette and A-line skirt, and the cinched waist added definition to Kaling’s look.

Kaling continued with her pointed-toe pumps, which incorporated gold motifs into her look, courtesy of Christian Louboutin. Accessories included delicate pieces from bracelets to rings to dangling chain earrings, further accentuating the shimmering style approach of Kaling’s red carpet attire.

To look glamorous, Kaling’s hair was styled by Mark Mena in a side part and swept straight down the producer’s back. The actress’ makeup by artist Meyering Cintron included elements such as bold eyebrows, smokey eyes, and glossy lips. Kaling’s look was curated by stylist Erin Walsh, who also curated actress Anne Hathaway’s wardrobe for her promotional tour for The Devil Wears Prada 2.

Karin appeared on the premiere arrivals carpet along with ‘Not Fit for Work’ stars Avantika Vandhanup and Ella Hunt. Vandanapu wore a dress in warm summer tones from Naeem Khan’s Spring 2026 collection.

Hunt turned to Prada’s spring 2026 ready-to-wear runway attire, wearing a deconstructed look featuring a strapless bandeau top and high-waisted skirt with black lace and fluffy yellow fabric. The actress also wore heels from the Italian luxury fashion house.

Unfit for Work, which was executive produced by Kaling, follows a group of 20-somethings in New York City as they try to balance their careers and personal lives. The series debuts on Hulu on Tuesday.
