Netflix has quietly raised prices again. The streaming giant’s most affordable ad-supported tier now costs $8.99 per month, up from the previous $7.99 per month, Netflix confirmed to TechCrunch in an email.

The ad-free Standard plan will also cost $19.99 per month, an increase of $2 from the previous subscription price of $17.99, and the Premium plan will also increase by $2 to $26.99 per month.

The cost of adding non-family viewers is also high. Adding a user to an ad-supported plan costs $6.99 instead of $7.99. Adding additional viewers to your ad-free plan costs $8.99 to $9.99.

The company told TechCrunch that the changes are intended to reflect a “broader range of entertainment” and improved service quality.

This price increase was first spotted by Android Authority.

Netflix says new members who sign up will receive the new plan pricing starting March 26, while existing subscribers will receive the latest pricing over the next few months. Existing members will be notified via email one month before the new price takes effect.

The last time Netflix raised prices was in January 2025. Since then, the company has updated the platform with a series of new additions, including the rollout of video podcasts and the addition of live streaming content. The company also recently announced plans to revamp its mobile app and expand its short-form video capabilities.

The new price increases come after Netflix withdrew from its bid for Warner Bros. Discovery last month.

Warner Bros. Discovery said Paramount Skydance’s offer of $31 per share was an “excellent offer” and gave Netflix four business days to respond. Netflix then announced it would not increase its $82.7 billion all-cash bid for the studio and ultimately backed out of the deal.
