The Newcastlegateshead Convention Bureau has developed a comprehensive toolkit for destinations in the northeastern England and provided guidance to help event organizers make decisions that prioritize people and environmental sustainability.
The Convention Bureau worked closely with local event management company Beaconhouse Events to develop the toolkit and leverage industry-leading knowledge and expertise.
The toolkit features venues and suppliers with sustainability certification, local food donation programs, volunteer opportunities, community engagement ideas, and more sustainable suppliers to keep market innovation up to date.
This follows this year’s announcement of the Newcastle Gate Head Convention Agency’s partnership with the event: a provider specializing in innovative, responsible and sustainable event solutions.
This partnership has created a custom version of Impact:Responsible Event Review Digital Platform. Provide event organizers with coordinated advice on improving the sustainability and social impact of the North East Ingland event.
“We’re excited to announce that we’re heading for the Convention Bureau,” said Shelley Johnson, Head of Market Insights for the Newcastle Gate Head Initiative.
“It was great to work with a truly knowledgeable organization to make this toolkit come true and provide the organisers with the information they wanted and needed.”
Sarah Tucklei, director, co-founder, co-founder and sustainability lead at Beacon House events, added: “We are passionate about supporting business and event planners with event sustainability. Our focus is on driving nationally through changes in the event industry. Here’s the event sustainability move.”
