NYC startup Telgea raises $2.7 million to simplify global mobile connectivity for businesses

Managing mobile plans for thousands of employees across multiple countries is a mess, including contracts, roaming fees, local airline negotiations, fragmented billing, and many internal managers. According to Samsung, global companies spend between $800 and $1,200 per employee each year on mobile-related costs. This rapidly grows more than $8 million a year for a company with 10,000 employees, and requires a full team to do it all.

Most businesses don’t even realize how much time and money is sinking into this.

Telgea, a New York-based startup, wants to change that. Using a single contract, number and interface, the company has built a global mobile platform that allows companies to manage mobile services across the country. There is no roaming. You don’t juggle multiple carriers. It’s just one platform that handles everything.

Today, Telgea announced its $2.7 million in funding to revise how global business telecoms are done. Telgea currently operates in eight markets and plans to continue growing one country at a time. The $2.7 million funding round includes support from Amigos Venture Capital, Antler, Mutivate Ventures and SSE Ventures.

The startup was founded by two founders, Andreas Afeldt Franke and Theis Jensen, with a track record of continental scaling companies. ÅfeldtFranke previously helped raise more than $500 million while helping thousands of employees develop tipcers and unnamed employees. Jensen took Medtech company Sani tweaks to 16 countries before leaving in 2023.

Headquartered in New York, the company offers unlimited text, phone and data in over 75 countries. There are no contracts or minimal. It’s just a single platform of business mobile services built to keep things simple.

Since launching in November 2024, Telgea has been deployed in eight countries and has already signed customer transactions of a total of $1 million in annual revenue.

“When building international companies, it’s about removing complexity, and in all new countries, that complexity grows exponentially. If companies can reduce or eliminate the burden of managing their country’s mobile contracts, they can free up internal resources and expand globally.

Telgea’s technology is built to expand alongside its customers. The company uses AI to launch new carriers each month in a different country. This means that the business you want to expand has faster failures, fewer manual setups, and fewer barriers.

The platform also automates onboarding, support and other telecom businesses. Virtual agents handle everything from plan activation to troubleshooting, so no IT and HR teams are required.

David Wieland, founder and managing partner of Motivate Venture Capital, said Telgea reminded him of a particular fintech giant.
