French President Emmanuel Macron has called the incident “Muslim terrorist attacks.”

Local media reports say at least one person has been killed and two police officers have been seriously injured in a stab wound incident in eastern France.

The incident occurred during a demonstration in Marhaus on Saturday at 4pm (15:00 GMT), French Channel BFM TV said on Saturday, citing the local prosecutor’s office.

The prosecutor’s office was killed as a passerby attempted to intervene, and three police officers were injured, the prosecutor’s office added.

The French National Anti-Terrorist Prosecutors’ Force (PNAT) is in charge of the investigation. Police officers have established security parameters at the scene, and military forces are also sent as backups. Forensic scientists have also begun searching for evidence.

Mulhouse prosecutor Nicolas Heitz told AFP News that the 37-year-old suspect is on a “terrorist” prevention watchlist called FSPRT. It was released in 2015 after a fatal attack in the satire magazine Charlie Hebd’s office and Jewish supermarket.

“Horror seized our city,” Mulhouse Micele Michele Lutz told Facebook.

French President Emmanuel Macron called the stab wounds “Islamist terrorism.”

“It’s definitely an act of Islamist terrorism,” Macron told reporters on the sidelines of the annual French Farm Show, adding that the Home Minister is heading for Malhaus.

Prime Minister François Bylow said, “Fraciousism has hit again, and we are in mourning.”

As the investigation continues, PNAT has documented murder stab wounds, adding that it has documented attempted murders “in connection with terrorist companies.”
