The Oscar-winning actress turned to the French luxury fashion house’s creative director, Mathieu Blazy, for her premiere look. Sleeveless ice blue dress with a plunging, curvy V neckline and illusion feather elements at the drop waist.
The structure of the dress included a fitted bodice with a cinched waist, thin straps that continued to the gown’s drop waist, and sequin embellishments at the neckline. With the drop waist, the material of the dress changed from thick fabric to a light flowing fabric.

Gathered and tied at the drop waist, the fabric was layered over layers of flowing chiffon to give the illusion of feathered styling. When it came to jewelry, French luxury fashion houses continued to play a role in Cruise’s look. She accessorized her outfit with Chanel tweed embroidered earrings and a Ruban ring.
Cruise has had a close relationship with Chanel for years, starting with the late designer and then-creative director Karl Lagerfeld who appointed him as the house’s brand ambassador in 2018.

“It’s such an iconic brand and Karl is a genius and I’ve admired everything he’s done since I was a little kid, so it’s such an honor to work with him. He’s like the king of the fashion world and we had some really, really interesting photoshoots, so it’s an adventure to be in front of his camera,” Cruise told WWD.
After announcing her ambassadorship in July 2018, Cruise starred in her first Chanel campaign, spotlighting the French luxury fashion house’s nautical-themed Cruise collection. Since then, she has continued to wear Chanel designs on red carpets and even attended presentations of new collections.

Cruise co-stars with Olivia Wilde, Seth Rogen and Edward Norton in The Invite, which tells the story of a couple, Joe and Angela, played by Rogen and Wilde, who invite their upstairs neighbors, played by Cruise and Norton, to a casual dinner party. As the night progresses, the gathering develops into unexpected places. “The Invite” will be released in theaters on July 10th.
