PPDS, an exclusive global provider of Philips Professional Displays and complementary solutions, has announced that the 50′ Philips Signage 3650 EcodeSign will be the first digital signage display to win the Epeat Cliemate+ Gold designation, with more models being set up.

The Philips Signage 3000 Series EcodeSign delivers high performance with 4K performance while consuming 50% of the time, consuming premium digital signage models comparable to energy.

Founded in 2006, EPEAT is the world’s finest eco-label for electronics, measuring the social and environmental impacts of products from extraction to end of life, while at the same time certifying that it meets at least 50% of existing optional standards as well as 100% of climate standards.

These include:

•Climate: Reducing greenhouse gas emissions in manufacturing supply chains and product use.

•Circulation: The way in which products are designed for reuse and recycling, and which deal responsibly with packaging, water and waste.

•Chemicals of Concern: Eliminate the use of toxic chemicals that are dangerous to human health and the environment.

•Responsible Supply Chain: Responsible sourcing of electronic supply chain materials, fair labor practices, and workers’ health and safety.

Owned and operated by the Global Electronics Council® (GEC) – a mission-driven nonprofit organization seeking to create a world with only sustainable electronics – EPEAT supports and promotes more informed, sustainably-driven purchasing decisions, providing product identification and details from a wide range of manufacturers of gloves.

Bart Wouters, International Product Manager at PPDS, commented: “At PPD, environment and sustainability are at the heart of product development, from initial design to manufacturing, delivery and post-installation. With the Philips Signage 3000 EcodeSign series, we have achieved a major industry milestone in winning Epeat Climate+ Silver. And now, this groundbreaking product is even better with Epeat Climate+ Gold.”

Andrea Barbuti, EMEA’s global product management lead at PPDS, added: It’s still a very beginning. Track range performance, check product lifecycle and work better. It’s all on our radar.

“We are extremely proud that the 50′ Philips Signage 3650 EcodeSign is recognized with the Epeat Climate+ Gold certification. We would like to thank our full team for their continued hard work setting new standards and working towards a brighter, more sustainable future in AV.”
