Replit raised $250 million and valued the company at $3 billion. Unlike other rapidly growing vibe coders, the replica is not running on the VCS every few months, but we’ll see if it changes. The final pay raise raised about $100 million in 2023, valued the company after $1.16 billion. Replit has now raised a total of around $478 million, Pitchbook estimates are estimated.
Founded in 2016 by programmers Amjad Masad (pictured), Faris Masad and designer Haya Odeh, the company says it has been growing rapidly recently. Annual revenues have skyrocketed from $2.8 million to $150 million in less than a year. This is comparable to the $100 million ARR in June, Masad tweeted at the time.
Prysm Capital led the round with participation from Amex Ventures and Google’s AI Futures Fund. He also pitched former investor Y-combinator, David Sachs Craft, Andreesen Horowitz, Court and Paul Graham.
Google’s involvement isn’t surprising. Replit was a close partner with Google Cloud. Atmosphere coded apps built with it are often hosted on Google. However, replicating has become a very popular tool these days, and Microsoft began offering Replit as an option for Azure in July.
