The Russian attack killed two people later on Friday in Ukraine’s southeastern city of Zaporiazia, and three more in the north and east of the country, officials said. CCTV footage recorded on Friday showed wreckage falling outside the apartment building after a loud blast in Rostov-on-on-Don in Russia’s southern part of the country. Yury Slyusar, the regional governor of Rostov-on-On, said a Ukrainian drone struck an apartment on the 17th floor, causing injury to two people. The attack took place in the Volonez region of southern Russia. There, Regional Governor Alexander Gusev said that more than 10 Ukrainian drones had been destroyed. No damage or casualties have been reported. The Ukrainian prosecutor’s office said Russia had dropped six glide bombs in the village of Krasnopyla in the Smie region of Ukraine. In another village, two people were injured. Air raid warnings have been issued in the Ukrainian capital Kiev and other parts of the country, and Kiev mayor Vitali Klitschko has called on people to seek shelter. According to Klitschko, fragments of the fallen flying object collided with a building in the capital, causing a fire. The satellite image showed craters and damaged bunkers in the Russian Engels strategic bomber after Ukraine struck it with a drone on Thursday. The attack caused a major explosion and fire. Engels’ base hosts Russia’s Tupolev TU-160 nuclear-responsive heavy strategic bombers. Ukraine accused Russia of illegally pressure Ukrainians in occupied territories of legal status or resignation, and said it would report the practice to the International Criminal Court. Russia, which now controls almost a fifth of Ukrainian territory, issued an executive order on Thursday saying that Ukrainian citizens “live in Russia with no legal basis” should be “regulated” by September. The Russian Ministry of Defense accused Ukrainian troops of blowing up a gas measurement station near the town of Sudasukh in Russia’s Kursk region, saying it “deliberate provocation by the Kiev regime… trusts the US president’s peaceful initiative.” Ukrainian military general staff rejected Moscow’s accusations and denounced Russian troops for shelling the Sudas Hagas measurement station as part of Russia’s “discretionary campaign.” The gas metering station offers a major pipeline that pumped Russian natural gas into Europe until supply halted last year.

German Bandetag Budget Committee approved a $3.25 billion approval in 2025 with additional military aid to Ukraine. This was welcomed by President Zelensky and thanked Germany for its latest multi-billion euro aid package.
