The Ukrainian air force said it destroyed 65 of the 111 drones that Russia fired overnight, causing damage in the Kharkov, Smie, Odesa and Donetsk regions. At least two people were killed and 25 people were injured in Kharkiv after a Russian drone strike targeted military hospitals, shopping centres, apartments and other targets late Saturday. Russia said it had captured the village of Szczeraki in southern Zaporidia and Pantereimonibuka in the East Donetsk region. Moscow has accused Ukraine of attacking Russian energy facilities in the last 24 hours, despite agreeing to a US broker deal to refrain from targeting the site.
Politics
Ukrainian President Voldimir Zelensky said in his overnight speech that he spoke with Oleksandr Silsky, the commander of his top military. [Ukraine’s] Ukraine accused Russia of committing a “war crime” after targeting a military hospital that it said violated “the norms of international humanitarian law.” Zelensky said he hopes Kiev will have a strong response from the West to Russia’s almost one day attack on the country.
