These are important events on the 1,156th day of the Russian Ukrainian War.

This is where things stand on Friday, April 25th.

Fineting

Russian missiles and drones killed 12 people in Kiev in the biggest attack of the year in the Ukrainian capital this year. According to the Ukrainian army, the attack included 145 drones and 70 missiles. Ukrainian President Voldymir Zelenki said Russia is using airstrikes in Ukrainian cities to cover progress by ground forces citing military leaders. President Zelensky said via social media that one of the ballistic missiles fired in Kiev was made in North Korea. Previous reports from Reuters News Agency identified it as a North Korean KN-23 (KN-23A) ballistic missile. Russian troops said the strike was directed at Ukraine’s military industrial complex and did not target civilians. Ukraine’s Home Ministry says seven regions, in addition to Kiev, are under attack from Russia.

Politics and diplomacy

US President Donald Trump has given Russian leader Vladimir Putin an unusual responsibilities after the attack on Kiev. “I am not satisfied with the Russian strike in Kiev. It’s not necessary, it’s a very bad timing. Vladimir, stop! 5,000 soldiers are dying. Let’s end the peace agreement!” Trump wrote about the true society. NATO Secretary-General Mark Latte said that signing a contract to end the Ukrainian War now would lead to Moscow. “I think there’s something at the table that Ukrainians are really playing ball now, and I think the ball is clearly in the Russian court,” Latte told reporters. Ukraine said forensic medical investigations revealed that 27-year-old Ukrainian reporter Victoria Rosztina died after being detained last September.

economy

Ukrainian finance minister Sergiy Marchenko told Reuters that Ukraine is moving forward “as fast as possible” about key mineral trade with the Trump administration. Trump previously said he had hoped he would sign a mineral trade this week, but that doesn’t seem likely yet.

Ceasefire

Trump said a ceasefire contract for Ukraine is underway and he continues to put pressure on Ukraine and Russia. The US president said the Kremlin had made “a rather big concession” that it was open to “stop the war and stop the entire country.” Trump also suggested that Ukraine may not be able to recover Crimea. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told the US CBS program that negotiations are “moving in the right direction,” but certain points need to be “fine-tuned.”
