These are important events on the 1,95th day of the Russian Ukrainian War.

This is where things stand on Tuesday, June 3rd:

Fineting

Ukrainian officials said at least five people were killed in combat and artillery fire along the frontlines of the war in eastern Ukraine. According to officials who were founded by Russians, drone attacks on major infrastructure against the major infrastructure of the Russian-occupied region in southeastern Ukraine attacked the entire Zaporisia region. A similar attack damaged currents in the adjacent Kherson area, resulting in power losses of 100,000 residents and 150 towns and villages. However, Russian officials occupying the site said that the Zaporidia nuclear power plant in Ukraine, Europe’s largest nuclear facility, had no impact. The station is currently in shutdown mode.

Ceasefire

While most of the advance was made during meetings between Russians in Istanbul and Ukrainian officials, both agreed to exchange the bodies of thousands of prisoners and 6,000 dead soldiers. This contract includes all wounded soldiers and soldiers between the ages of 18 and 25. Russia has set up a memorandum of understanding in consultations to end the war with Ukraine. Conditions include Ukrainian troops that retreated from four regions annexed by Russia in September 2022, but Russian troops were completely unable to capture them, and Kiev halts war mobilization efforts and freezing Kyiv, which imports Western weapons. Russian documents also suggest that Ukraine end martial law and hold elections, and that the two countries can then sign a comprehensive peace treaty. Also, the memorandum of understanding states that Ukraine must abandon its bid to participate in NATO, set limits on the size of its military, and recognize Russians as the official language of the country on par with Ukrainians. Ukraine, which previously rejected all such requests by Moscow, said it would spend next week reviewing the memorandum and proposed another consultation between June 20th and 30th. The White House said President Donald Trump is “open” at a three-way summit with Russian leader Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian president Voldy Milzellenki. Zelenskyy’s Chief of Staff said in a Telegram post after discussing that Moscow didn’t think he wanted a ceasefire. “The Russians are doing everything to continue the war without stopping their fire. Now the new sanctions are very important,” he wrote.

Principality

The US Senate said it will begin working on further rounds of sanctions against Russia and secondary sanctions from its trading partners if peace talks continue to stall. Possible sanctions include 500% tariffs in countries that purchase Russian exports, such as oil, gas, and uranium. Tariffs will strike Moscow’s two biggest energy customers, India and China. John Toon, the US Senate majority leader, said the senator is “prepared to give President Trump the tools he needs to provide in a truly real way the tools he needs to ultimately come to Russia to the table.”
