Updated 1:13pm Pacific: A Salesforce spokesperson told TechCrunch that MoonHub has not actually been obtained (by the company’s definition of terms). Rather, MoonHub is shutting down and as MoonHub suggests in its post about the news, only a portion of the company’s team will join Salesforce, not the entire team. The original story continues.

Salesforce quietly snapped MoonHub, a startup AI for reviewing and hiring talent. The terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.

In a post on the MoonHub website on Monday, the company said the entire team based in Menlo Park, California, will join Salesforce, an early investor at MoonHub.

“As a customer and investor, Salesforce is already playing a role in MoonHub’s journey,” wrote Nancy Xu, CEO of MoonHub, in a post. “From our early conversation, [was] It also reveals that our companies share deep core values, such as customer trust, and a firm belief in the role AI agents play in unleashing a global era of innovation and opportunity. We are excited about the impact we will have together. ”

Salesforce is shopping. Last week, the company completed its $8 billion acquisition of Informatica, a data management solution provider. And last month, Salesforce bought automation startup Convergence.ai to enhance the former AI product.

Founded in 2022 by former meta engineer Xu, MoonHub sells a variety of tools designed to help businesses recruit, evaluate and hire job seekers. MoonHub’s AI can automatically identify candidates for roles and reach out and assist in tasks like onboarding and payroll management.

According to CrunchBase, MoonHub has raised $14.4 million from backers, including Khosla Ventures, AIX Ventures, Day One Ventures and GV (formerly Google Ventures). The company has hundreds of customers, including Fortune 500 companies per Xu.

“By joining Salesforce, I’m accelerating my mission in this next chapter,” Xu continued in her post. “MoonHub’s talented team will play a key role in driving Salesforce’s AI strategy.”

Salesforce MoonHub purchases are trending. Despite the obviously complicated receptions from job seekers, AI is increasingly being used in hiring and other HR processes. According to a recent Gallup poll, 93% of Fortune 500’s top HR personnel are beginning to integrate AI tools and technology to enhance their practice.
