New York Mayor Eric Adams said a family of Spanish tourists, including three children, was killed in the crash.

Six people, including three children, have been killed after a tourist helicopter crashed on the Hudson River in New York City, near the lower part of Manhattan, the mayor said.

All people, Spanish pilots and families, who are tourist tourist trips, have passed away.

“At this point, all six of our victims have been taken out of the water. Sadly, we have declared that all six of our victims have died,” New York Mayor Eric Adams said in a briefing Thursday.

The helicopter broke apart in the air and crashed upside down into a river between Manhattan and the New Jersey waterfront. Following other recent accidents in Washington, DC and Philadelphia, it was the latest famous aviation disaster in the United States.

New York president Grace Meng said on social media that he was “devastated to learn about the fatal helicopter crash on the Hudson River.”

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has identified the helicopter as a Bell 206. This is a model widely used in commercial and government aviation, tourism companies, television news stations, police stations, and more. It was originally developed for the US military before being adapted to other uses.

The National Transportation Safety Board said it would investigate.

News video from the crash site showed some emergency and police boats as helicopters circling patches of sinking rivers.

The incident took place in a river around Tribeca. New York police said residents should expect delays in emergency vehicles and traffic in the surrounding area.

The river is a busy transport channel, 60 meters (200 feet) deep at the point.

Over the years, there have been multiple crashes, including a 2009 collision between an airplane and a tourist helicopter that killed nine people, and a 2018 charter helicopter that went down to the East River and killed five people.

A medical transport killed seven people in January when it plunged into a Philadelphia neighborhood. It came two days after an American Airlines jet and a military helicopter collided in the air in Washington.
