To mark the National Nutrition Month, Sodexo UK and Ireland have published a nutrition report highlighting the collaboration between nutritionists, nutritionists, chefs and supply chains that create nutritious and delicious diets that support healthier lives.

Sodexo, the world’s largest employer of nutritionists with 5,402 experts worldwide, offers tailored food solutions through brands such as modern recipes that transform corporate meals and kitchen pieces, providing nutritious and affordable diets to businesses, defense and healthcare sites.

This report outlines how Sodexo uses nutritional science, data and research to create healthy and sustainable menus that allow consumers to make healthy choices without sacrificing taste. It also highlights Sodexo’s work across sectors such as military, business, education and healthcare, demonstrating how to design menus to meet diverse needs and food trends.

Additionally, the report highlights how Sodexo’s nutrition and nutrition team can support accurate recipe analysis, safe innovation and performance tracking, all the dishes and products used meet strict nutrition and allergen standards.

Sodexo’s latest sustainable food barometer, published in January 2025, revealed that UK consumers want a nutritious, sustainable diet that protects the planet without sacrificing taste or affordable prices. In particular, 35% associate sustainable food with better nutrition.

The key nutritional outcomes highlighted in the report are:

96% of KitchenWorks recipes contain low/medium sugar levels, while 94% have low/medium salt levels. The latest recipe menu is 50% plant forward and 50% plant-based. 44% of modern recipe lunch dishes feature 50 ingredients for the future. Each one is highly nutritious, tasty and has little impact on the environment. 91% of modern recipe lunch dishes use healthier cooking methods such as poaching, grilling and steaming. 300 product lines have been reviewed and Sadexo’s Healthy Snacking initiative, Smart Choice, has been developed.

Wan Mak, head of nutrition and nutrition for Sodexo UK and Ireland, said:

“Our team uses evidence-based insights to ensure that nutritious, sustainable, delicious food is always at the forefront of our work, in order to make healthier choices for our customers.”

Matt Hay, Culinary Director at Sodexo UK & Ireland, added: Our culinary, nutrition and sustainability team ensures that every dish we offer is not only tasty, but also rooted in evidence and sustainable practices. For us, food is an art, but it is science too. ”
