Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic (AP) – Father of a 20-year-old student at the University of Pittsburgh Suddyksha KonankiDuring spring break with a friend, he went missing in the town of Punta Cana, the popular Dominican Republic tourist town, and he said he asked authorities to expand the investigation.

According to civil defense officials, Conanki was last seen on the beach near the resort where she was staying before dawn on March 6th.

“It was four days and if she were in the water she would probably be scattered across the coast.” I told WTOP-FM. “She cannot be found, so I ask her to investigate multiple options, such as invitations and aiding.”

Authorities were using drones, helicopters and detection dogs to scrutinize the water off the east coast of the island on Monday, civil defense spokesman Jensen Sanchez told The Associated Press.

“The search is ongoing at sea as she is presumed to have been drowned. According to the boy who was with her, the waves wiped her out, but that’s under police investigation,” he said.

He noted that it can take more than a week for your body to surface in warm waters.

When her family learned of her loss of failure, Subbarayudukonanki and his wife Sliedevi flew to Punta Kana with two family friends. He and a family friend filed records of the complaints on Sunday, asking authorities to expand the investigation.

The complaint points out that student belongings, including her cell phone and wallet, were left with her friends.

“In light of these circumstances, I respectfully request that the authorities take immediate steps to investigate not only the possibility of accidental drowsing, but also the possibility of lures and foul plays,” he writes.

Suddiksha Conanki, an Indian citizen, is a permanent US resident from Shantily, Virginia, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, which works with federal staff and university police to help investigate Dominican national police.

University of Pittsburgh officials are in contact with Virginia families and authorities to provide support in efforts to find and safely take missing students home, the school said in a statement.

According to her father, Conanki and five other female college students traveled to the Dominican Republic on March 3rd.

“She wanted to have a great break with her friends in Punta Cana,” he said.
