Over the past decade we have covered hundreds of climate startups working on technology to combat climate change. Many of them have struggled to secure funding and are even more concerned about recent revelation. While these startups fight for investment, the US government has leaked billions of taxpayer dollars to a few climate NGOs with minimal transparency.
Climate fraud: Billions have been washed by climate NGOs
In a shocking video shared on Wednesday, February 12th, new Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) administrator Lee Zeldon has reportedly 200 taxpayer funds allegedly mismanaged under the Biden administration. It reveals his office that discovered billions of dollars. The findings point to significant waste, as billions of people are redirected to external organizations without clear accountability.
Zeldon, who prioritizes economic accountability at the EPA, pointed to a two-month video featuring EPA political appointees from the Biden era. In it, the appointees compared agency spending to “gold sticks” to “throw gold sticks from Titanic,” a minor phor to burn billions before the president’s transition. Ta.
During his confirmation hearing, Zeldon committed to a full financial audit of the agency. Now, his team has traced these so-called “gold bars” and discovered a nasty paper path.
20 billion dollar questions
According to Zeldon, $20 billion has been parked at external financial institutions. This is an unprecedented move for agents. From that amount, $2 billion was distributed to just eight organizations, granting wide discretion to taxpayer dollars. The most eye-catching assignment? Around $7 billion was directed towards the Climate United Fund, with little transparency about how the money was being spent and who was making the profit.
Zeldon raised some pressing questions:
How did these organizations decide where the money went? How much money has already been allocated? Do former Biden-era EPA officials currently work within these groups?
A quick online search confirms that Climate United has received a $6.97 billion grant from the National Clean Investment Fund. In a press release in April 2024, the organization stated:
“Today, Vice President Kamala Harris and EPA Administrator Michael Regan are from the National Clean Investment Fund (NCIF), a national nonprofit focused on providing the benefits of green technology to communities around the country. Announcing a $69.7 billion investment. The coalition consisting of Calvert Impact, Community Preservation Corporation (CPC) and Self-Help is one of three programs based on the $27 billion Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF). It was one of several entities that competed to manage parts of NCIF.
The statement clearly states that the funding is aimed at green technology initiatives across the country, but details of how the money is distributed are lacking.
Seeking immediate action
Zeldon assured the public that there was no evidence of fraud that financial institutions held the funds, but emphasized the need to terminate the contract and return all remaining funds to EPA control.
He also introduced the case to the EPA inspectors and the Department of Justice for further investigation, pledged a full review of all the dollars spent.
Promote accountability
Zeldon reveals that the era of unexplained funding for climate groups is over. He promised more stringent financial surveillance at the EPA, vowing that taxpayer money would move forward responsibly.
“The American people deserve more accountable government than what has happened in the last four years,” Zeldon said. “We take our legal obligations seriously. I have told our team to track these gold bars, but they found them. Now we’ve made them go to the government. It’s being reverted to control.”
What’s coming next?
As research continues, there may be changes in legal outcomes and policy on the horizon. Expect further scrutiny of how taxpayer dollars are allocated and the new focus on financial surveillance within the agency.
Stay tuned as this story develops.
Below is the video transcript:
“EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin:
Hello, this is Lee Zeldin, an administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). One of my top priorities at the EPA is to be a responsible steward of hard-earned taxes. That means zero tolerance policy for waste and abuse.
The video surfaced two months ago, indicating that Biden EPA political appointees are openly debating “throwing gold bars from the Titanic.” In this case, “goldbar” was your taxes and the Biden administration knew they were in vain.
Following this revelation, I have made a firm commitment to both Congress and the Americans. This was repeated over and over at my confirmation hearing.
Thanks to the dedicated team at the EPA, we have revealed the truth. Surprisingly, about $20 billion in taxes were parked at external financial institutions by the Biden EPA. This was an unprecedented move in the history of the EPA. This is a scheme designed to quickly mandate funds with minimal surveillance.
More concerning, $2 billion of this money was awarded to just eight entities, and then it was much less transparent to NGOs and other organizations, with the responsibility to distribute the funds at its discretion. Approximately $7 billion has been noticed by one entity: The Climate United Fund.
Now, like many Americans, I have some pressing questions:
How did these organizations decide how to allocate funds? How much money have you been given so far? Are there any former Biden EPA staff currently working for these entities?
Let me be absolutely clear. At this point there is no reason to suspect fraud by the bank itself. However, as an EPA administrator, I stand here:
Financial agent agreements with the bank must be terminated immediately. Banks must irresponsibly return all dollars “threwed out of the Titanic.” The EPA has full control over these funds and reviews every penny spent. I will introduce this issue to the inspector’s office and work with the Department of Justice.
The era of focusing billions of dollars on activist groups on the left, poses as “environmental justice” and “climate equity.” The American people deserve transparency and accountability. This has been a huge shortage over the past four years.
We take legal liability very seriously. I instructed my team to track your gold bars and they found them. Now, as we move forward, we will bring them back to government control.
As President Trump pledged, we are in a new golden age of American success for all citizens, regardless of race, religion, colour or belief. ”
