Three more Desantis allies to helm Florida’s public universities

TALHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — The state committee overseeing Florida’s public universities has confirmed that three more allies of Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis will become the university’s president.

It’s a move that supporters say they’re looking at political capital in schools as a critical state funding, navigating a rapidly changing legal environment, and that critics see it as another indication that they’re aligned with the governor.
