Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou believes there is a leak within the North London Club that will affect his role.
Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou said leaks of information from within the club have made his job even more difficult as Australia closes to finding the cause of the problem.
During the Postecoglou’s troubled second season, before the Spurs game, news of the injury regularly made its way to social media.
Before the 1-1 Europa League quarterfinals on Thursday, Wilson Odbert’s absence from the starting lineup was leaked long before the team was officially announced.
“There’s no doubt there’s a leak inside the club,” Postcoglo said Friday.
“Someone keeps leaking information and has it all year round. Why it makes our work even more difficult, why it doesn’t want to help us, so we don’t help.
“We narrowed it down. I have a fair idea of where it came from. We’ll deal with it.
“It certainly doesn’t help us on match day. It’s half the truth at times, sometimes even more. You want to think that everyone in our camp is working with us rather than against us.”
Tottenham’s long injury list has played a major role in the disappointing Premier League season.
The Spurs sit in 14th in seven games and are on the course to miss the top 10 for the first time since the 2007/08 campaign.
Post-Coglow’s future with the club next season appears to depend on winning the Europa League and waiting 17 years for silverware.
With that in mind, he is expected to look to Frankfurt’s second game on Thursday and make changes to his trip to the Wolves on Sunday.
“We need big games, big performances on Sundays, so having fresh feet helps,” he added.
“But let’s take a look next Thursday too. It’s not about resting or managing people. It’s also about being ready. You can go in 120 minutes and you need to be ready.
