After “illegal interference” collapsed the bridge, the train is off the tracks in Russia’s Briance area, officials say.

In Russia, at least seven people were killed, at least seven people and injured 30 people after colliding with a bridge that had collapsed after local officials described it as “illegal interference.”

The incident took place late on Saturday in the Briance region of Russia, adjacent to Ukraine.

“Unfortunately, there are seven deaths,” Governor Briansk Alexander Bogomaz said in a Telegram post.

“Thirty victims, including two children, were taken to medical facilities in the Bryansk area,” Bogomaz said, adding that the two were in serious condition.

According to Russian news outlets, the train driver was among the people who were killed.

Rozabutdor, a Russian federal road transport agency, said the destroyed bridge passed over the railway tracks on which the train was running.

According to RIA news agency, rail cars, which had been moving from the town of Klimov to the Russian capital Moscow, and the Russian capital of Moscow, escaped the tracks when they collided with a collapsed bridge near the village of Vignonich.

The region is approximately 100 km (62 miles) from Russia’s border with Ukraine.

According to the RIA, rescuers were looking for passengers trapped inside the damaged train, but emergency facilities were installed at a school in Vygonicz.

The Moscow Railway said in a Telegram post that the bridge had collapsed “as a result of illegal interference in the operation of transportation.”

I wouldn’t go into further detail about that.

The Russian Baza Telegram Channel often publishes information from sources of security services and law enforcement, and without providing evidence, it reports that the bridge has exploded, according to preliminary information.

The explosion has derailed multiple trains in the Russian region near Ukraine, where the battle between Russia and Ukraine.

There were no immediate comments from Ukraine.

Two hours after the bridge collapse was reported, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said Ukrainian air defense forces were trying to repel Russian air force attacks on the Ukrainian capital.

Earlier on Saturday, Russian drone and missile attacks killed at least two people in Ukraine, officials said.

Since the Russian invasion began three years ago, there have been continuous cross-border artillery, drone strikes and secret raids from Ukraine to the Russian Briance, Kursk and the Belgorod region, adjoining Ukraine.

President Donald Trump urged Moscow and Kiev to cooperate in a deal to end the war, and Russia proposed a second round of face-to-face consultations with Ukrainian officials in Istanbul next week.

Ukraine still promises to attend the meeting on Monday, saying it needs to see Russia’s proposal first, but the US senator warned Moscow that it will be “stricken sharply” by new US sanctions.
