Edra, a New York-based startup that claims to help companies automate their workflows by turning existing operational data into a living knowledge base, just received a meaningful vote of confidence. A $30 million Series A led by Sequoia with participation from 8VC and A*, a venture firm founded by serial entrepreneur Kevin Hartz.
The founder deserves attention. Eugen Alpeza and Yanis Karamanrakis said they met in college 13 years ago and spent years at Palantir before striking out on their own. Alpeza built major commercial accounts and led the launch of Palantir’s AI platform. As the company’s first forward-deployed AI engineer, Karamanlakis focused on moving AI models from demo to production.
The problem they are addressing is straightforward. Businesses store tons of useful operational data, such as emails, logs, support tickets, and chat history, but don’t have a good way to act on it. Edra says it automatically analyzes that data and builds a knowledge base from it, keeping it always up to date. Current use cases focus on IT service management and customer support. Customers already include HubSpot, ASOS, Cushman & Wakefield, and more.
