Rajasthan Royals student Prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi will become the youngest T20 Centurion after winning a spectacular 35-ball 100 against the Gujarat Titans in the IPL.

14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi has become the youngest century in men’s 2020 cricket as he led the Royals in Rajasthan to an eight-wicket victory over the Gujarat Titans in an Indian Premier League match in Jaipur.

Suryavansi on Monday issued a severe punishment for Gujarat’s bowling attack, hitting 11 sixes and seven fours on 101 of the 38 balls. The host chased the target for 209 runs in 15.5 overs.

The left-hander reached 100 with 35 balls, registering the second-fastest century in IPL history, pairing with Yashasvi Jaiswal in the opening partnership of 166 runs.

“It’s a very good feeling. It’s my first 100 people in the IPL and three innings. The results are shown here after practice before the tournament,” said the match player, Suryavanshi.

“I watch the ball and play. Getting 100 in the IPL was a dream. Today, it has come true. There is no fear. I don’t think much.

Suryavanshi’s century was also fastest by the IPL Indians, improving Rajasthan’s 37-ball effort against Mumbai Indians in 2010.

“Congratulations to Young Vaibhav Suryavanshi for breaking the record for the fastest IPL by Indians,” Pathan wrote on social media.

“It’s even more special to see that happen while playing for the Rajasthan Royals, like I did.”

Suryavanshi grabbed the headlines when he became the youngest player to win a contract in the lucrative IPL at the age of 13, making his debut this month, and presented in style with six of the six from the first ball he faced.

He played in the 12-year-old domestic Ranji Trophy Red Ball Competition last year, winning the 58th century on behalf of India’s under-19 aspect against Australia.

Suryavanshi also made 300 people in a local tournament in his hometown of Bihar.

Rajasthan is eighth in the IPL standings and the victory of Gujarat led to five losses in the 2008 champions.
