Weftec 2025 is currently underway in Chicago, providing the best water quality education and training to water quality experts.

Weftec, a technology exhibition and conference by the Water Environment Federation, is North America’s largest annual water quality exhibition, and this year marks the 98th year of the conference.

Live streaming of the opening general session featuring keynote speaker Travis Mills.

Resilience is something that members of the water community are used to. No matter your infrastructure, community, or personal life. Weftec 2025 will focus on this theme.

Networking and Connecting in the Water Quality Sector

From opening general sessions to cheering on your favorite team during the Operations Challenge, experience the unique way Weftec 2025 brings together water quality leaders and creates valuable and supportive relationships.

Participants will meet water sector experts and suppliers, connect with water sector colleagues, participate in important conversations, and help shape the future of water quality.

Weftec annually attracts a diverse cross-section of the global water sector, broadens perspectives and allows for the exchange of ideas, knowledge and experiences that will deepen the understanding of sector experts.

Operation Challenge: Shows operational excellence in wastewater management

A key event at Weftec 2025 is The Operations Challenge. This is a showcase of wastewater treatment excellence that allows a skilled team of experts to compete in a series of timing events.

These events simulate the real-world challenges faced in the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment facilities.

Through this competition, participants will highlight the key role of efficient and environmentally responsible wastewater management, cultivate friendships and promote best practices within the water sector.

The competition is divided into three divisions based on the team’s previous performance.

Division I: Returned a team that was in Division I the previous year. This includes returning teams who competed in the Division II competition the previous year and took the top three overall. Division II: Teams that are not eligible for Division I also include returning teams who competed in the previous year’s Division III competition and took the top three overall. Division III: A new team with three members who have never competed in the Weftec Operations Challenge for current utility.

Weftec Global Center

At the heart of the Weftec Conference is Weftec’s international hub, a global centre designed to promote cross-border collaboration, share cutting-edge knowledge and connect participants with key stakeholders across the water sector.

Representatives from the US Commercial Services at the Chicago office will participate in Weftec to assist trade representatives connecting international buyers with US exhibitors.

Topics include, but are not limited to, PFA, smart water management, water security, utility management, innovation, and business opportunities outside of the US.

Keep your momentum with Wef

Weftec is just the beginning. Innovators can join the Water Environment Federation to maintain connections, increase influence and promote innovation in the water sector.

Together, we are building stronger communities and accelerating the shift towards a circular water economy.
