“It wasn’t one big light bulb. It was death by a thousand cuts,” Edward Alley said when asked if he had led him and his co-founder, Raj Kadiyala, to launch Sre.ai.

The company offers natural language AI agents that can run complex enterprise DEVOPS workflows such as continuous integration and testing.

“Instead of sewing together a variety of low-code tools for enterprise applications such as Salesforce compared to products built on AWS, GCP or Azure, teams can now travel faster with context-driven chat-like experiences that work through everything.”

The duo thought about this product while working for Google Research and Deepmind. Aryee, CTO at Sre.ai, said he noticed the difference between what others who didn’t work at Google had to use and the infrastructure tools they could access. Their engineer friends lamented about boring tasks, like conflicts of unangled metadata. “It bit us,” Ally said.

He and Kadyara realized that “we need to create a next-generation devoop experience.”

So we founded Sre.ai in 2024 to provide businesses with modern tools to avoid issues such as metadata conflicts.

Other competing players include Copado, Gearset and Flosum. However, Kadiyala said Sre.ai differs in that it works on multiple platforms ranging from AWS to ServiceNow.

The company officially came out of stealth on Wednesday to announce a $7.2 million seed round led by Salesforce Ventures and Crane Venture Partners.

Aryee said the sre.ai onboarding process includes a setup where the sre.ai tool automatically connects with user integration. This tool can be customized to your needs, including release pipelines, insight dashboards, and data monitoring. Meanwhile, sre.ai monitors agents in the background to flag issues that need attention, such as security risks. This tool provides recommendations on how to resolve the problem. This allows human IT teams to freely tackle larger, more meaningful projects rather than focusing on tedious tasks.

Kadiyala described the fundraising process as “high beliefs,” noting that the rounds are overregistered.

The company participated in YC’s Fall ’24 cohort. They use the fresh capital to hire AI engineers and Salesforce experts.

“We’re seeing a lot of early traction and are excited to build our team to support new customers and expand our platform with new features,” he said.
